20 Things I Wish I Knew When I Was 20

  1. Learn to Love Mistakes.

Always remember to learn from your mistakes – and keep growing. Don’t doubt yourself. This is life school and one day you will be look back and laugh at them. This is just a practice for success.

2. Less is more.

Focus on being really good at just a few things. Hard work is wasted when it’s scattered in too many directions. Find a niche and focus at just few things.

3. Say Yes Often.

Stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying something new can be scary and terrifying. But when we say Yes to something new it will help you to open up. Try new things and bring you new opportunities.

4. Learn To Love Change.

Change will happen. You can’t avoid it. It’s nessesary and nothing in this world is not for always. Everything changing. It won’t be always easy, but is worth. Learn to be OK with that.

5. Tell People How You Feel.

When you tell people how you feel you can feel amazing. If someone hurt your feeling, tell him. If you are grateful to someone tell him, tell your parents that you love them. Life is to short and we can miss this opportunity.

6. Stop Worrying so Much About What Other People Think.

Because is not important so much. You know who you are and the only that is important is what you think and feel about yourself.

7. You Don’t Have as Much to Lose as you Think.

Oftentimes, fear of loss is what prevents us from pursuing our dream. Decide, do, because if you don’t you maybe lost the chance. If yes, you can get amazing success. Do step forward in life.

8. Be Honest With Yourself and Others.

Always be honest with yourself and others. Honesty gives you peace of mind. Relationships build on trust would last, on lies won’t last.

9. Find Time to Be Alone.

Being alone can be wonderful. Be your own best friend – take yourself out to lunch, take time to read good book, go to the movie, or go on a trip alone. You will learn a lot about yourself by just hangingout with you.

10. Meet as many new people as you can.

You maybe don’t realize this yet, but the people you meet can help you. Treat everyone like you’d like to be treated and be willing to make new friendships. Connecting with new people can bring you amazing new energy, amazing people and opportunities in your life.

11. Leverage What You’ve Got.

Learn to work with what you’ve got instead of complaining about your situation. Stevie Wonder can’t see, but he has an exceptional ear for music.

12. Learn to ASk Great Questions.

Some people have incredible stories and lessons to give to you. You have to be willing to ask. You don’t know everything and if you find yourself around people who are a lot smarter than you, stay curious and ask great questions. Listen more than you talk and keep asking. You will get a lot of new knowledge and wisdom.

13. Make People Feel Good

Compliment is very powerful and never understimate the power of a simple compliment to someone you meet. Make the people around you feel good, and the world will return the favor. With a small compliment you can change a whole day to someone, and remember people seem to have a way of remembering the people who made them feel special.

14. Find something challenging you love doing.

About what are you passionate? Find something that you’re passionate about and that challenges you. What you do that you will feel the most rewarded.

15. Invest in Yourself!

Never stop Investing in yourself. Never stop learning. School ends at some point, but life is a journey, and if you’re not growing, you are dying. Read books, learn something new, go to the seminar, learn a language, learn to dance,… Do what you love, learn what you love and never stop investing in yourself.

16. Learn to Love Yourself.

Do you want life fulfilled? Then learn to love yourself first and completely. Look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself you’re handsome, or beautiful. Say it often and feel it. You are amazing and unique and no one looks like you. Love it, love yourself. Other people will only love you more for it and you will start to attract more love and happiness.

17. Help Others.

Help others. Give back. Once you find yourself in a position to help bring others up to where you are, send elevator back down. In the top can be lonely. Help others to get to where you are. Give back.

18. Enjoy the journey.

Enjoying the journey is very powerful. We all have goals and aspirations and you are probably working toward something right now. Feel this moment now and enjoy, even if is hard. Enjoy the journey and appreciate all the little failures and wins.

19. Be Yourself.

Stop comparing yourself with others. Be yourself. You might never be the best dancer on the world, or the wealthier person on the planet, but you are you, so concentrate on being better today than you were yesterday. If you keep doing that, you’ll be successful. Step by step. Believe and amaze yourself.

20. Take Big Risks.

Go after what you want. Quit your job. Jump out of an airplane. Start a business. Go to the trip. You won’t always succeed, but you won’t always fail, either.
